The main Virginia Tech campus is located in Blacksburg, approximately 38 miles southwest of Roanoke, VA.

Driving Directions To Virginia Tech Campus Location

FROM INTERSTATE 81: About 30 miles South of Roanoke. Take the 118-B exit off I-81 for Blacksburg/Virginia Tech. This becomes the new Route 460 bypass, and turns into 460 EAST. You will travel on this road for approximately 8-9 miles to get to the Virginia Tech Campus.
On 460 EAST, you will come to a stoplight at the main Virginia Tech entrance. Turn right at the stoplight onto Southgate Drive. You will then be on the Virginia Tech campus.
Take the first left onto Duck Pond Drive. Then, take the first right onto Washington Street. Bioinformatics Facility I is located at the corner of Duck Pond Drive and Washington Street. Parking is available opposite of the institute on Washington Street in front of the Food Sciences building.
