Target Validation Session
Biodefense Proteomics Research Centers
Fifth Programmatic Meeting
Hilton Washington DC/Rockville Executive Meeting Center
Rockville, Maryland
Monday, June 9, 2008
2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Moderators: Andras Fiser and Kami Kim -- Einstein PRC
Definition of Terms
- Target — An isolatable metabolite specific to a particular cellular pathway and/or any organism-specific protein.
- Validation — A process of quality control by which target(s) are deemed worthy of further scientific investigation.
Session Objectives
- To present progress on the various aspects of target validation.
- To have each PRC present at least one talk on their specific findings.
- To have all PRCs participate in all three breakout sessions roundtable discussions.
Breakout Sessions — Each breakout session will have two presentations and a roundtable discussion which is open to all meeting participants. It is acknowledged that these breakout sessions represent artificial divisions because there is considerable overlap between the three topics.
