About Caprion Proteomics Inc.
Dr. Eustache Paramithiotis, PI

caprion logoCaprion Proteomics Inc. Caprion's leading and proprietary proteomics discovery technologies - CellCarta® - enables the discovery of novel targets for therapeutics development and the identification of novel protein biomarkers that can significantly reduce risk and enhance clinical development productivity and decision making in pharmaceutical research. Caprion has established a number of biomarker collaborations projects with several companies including Wyeth, AstraZeneca, Merck, Pfizer, Boehringer Ingelheim, ICOS, Berlex and Vertex. Caprion also has three active strategic collaborations in the area of novel oncology target discovery and antibody development with Biogen-Idec, Abbott and J&J-Centocor.

Caprion is studying molecular events that enable bacteria to subvert the immune system. This work aims to define novel pathways and proteins that will provide a basis for the development of new immunotherapy targets, vaccines, and diagnostic candidates. Caprion will employ its distinctive quantitative protein profiling technologies to analyze pathogen and host proteins involved during Brucella infection. Brucella is a potential bioterrorism agent and is responsible for considerable global economic losses due to disease in cattle. However, the study layout and methodologies used are not specific to Brucella, but represent an approach applicable to many intracellular bacteria such as Salmonella, mycobacteria, Bacillus anthracis and others.

See the Biodefense Proteomics Catalog for Caprion's publicly available proteomic data.
